A lush garden, lit by soft reflections from tallcedar-clad walls is the secluded heart of Courted House.
Here, the classic Australian wrap-around verandah model is inverted and condensed for an urban setting. A central courtyard provides a city version of "bush," around which the home privately revolves. Courted House dissolves the threshold between landscape and domestic life.

A perimeter of perforated steel screens and cement panels filter the surrounding streets andneighbours. Five metre ceilings and vertical white planes play with light and shadow. Timbercladding unifies inside and out. An efficient structural grid of steel framing and stud infill ensures rapid construction time for cost effectiveness.
